Fall Fest 2011

Knowing Brad for so long, I feel like there's very little about him that surprises me (the lipstick and high heels episode notwithstanding). But every year, as summer slowly gives way to fall, Brad gets a little...down. It takes me by surprise every year when he starts feeling a bit sad--it's not like he gets so depressed that he curls into a ball on the floor or anything, but I can tell he's sad to say goodbye to summer. It just so happens, though, that I LOVE fall. So, to cheer Brad up and to really embrace the new season, our family decided to spend these past few weekends having Fall Fest 2011!!

Cinnamon latte!

What is Fall Fest 2011, you ask? Why, it's our first annual weekend o' fall fun! We did all sorts of fun fall stuff! Let's see what that included:

We started the morning off right with a little baking. Pumpkin muffins, anyone?

Papa and Sam were really excited, too.
(Yes, Brad is wearing the wearable blanket my mom gave me for Christmas. It's awesome)

Maia kept a good eye on the muffins while they baked. Once they came out, I could hardly keep her away from them while they cooled.

After we enjoyed the muffins, we decided to go to the pumpkin patch. We were a little hesitant, because it was SUPER windy out. But it was Fall Fest, people, so we bundled up and out we went!

Photos galore:
The above picture makes me giggle.  I kept yelling at them to look at me, but apparently the sun was RIGHT behind me.  This was the best photo I got of this shot!  :)

The only picture taken of me was this one with Mo (proof that I was there, too!)

Maia picked out "one for Sam"

Brad ran into Target on our way to the pumpkin patch and bought this hat for Mo.
I was impressed with his choice, and Maia LOVED it!  :)

Here it comes: memory lane time!!
Four years, same cart o' pumpkins:

I meant to get one of Sam, but it was SO chilly, and he was snug and sleeping in the Ergo on Brad.

We also went on a horse and wagon ride, and Sam woke up to enjoy it.
The photo is totally blown out, but it'll do.

Happy fall, y'all!
