I am late with this, but I did want to post a few pictures from Halloween. It was a great holiday, with the anticipation almost as much fun as the actual night.
Brad is always doing fun crafty things with Maia. I came home one day to find Maia and Sam and Barney all wearing cardboard masks. It was cute and also kind of disturbing, like I had walked into some kiddie version of a horror movie.
The night before Halloween, Maia decided she wanted to wear her bumblebee costume to Joy's house for Halloween. Marin gave this costume to Maia awhile ago, and Maia LOVES it!
Maia was pumped to be wearing it out of the house, since we usually don't allow her to wear it out and about.
She did a quick test to make sure the wings were working properly--as you can see, they were.
Maia wasn't the only one dressed up for Halloween. Sam got into the spirit, dressed as a very scary monster. He's not so scary-looking here, but he was up a ton the night before and was up early on Halloween morning. Even scary monsters need a nap here or there. :)
I bought this outfit a month or so before Halloween, and had purchased a size 6 months. Sam barely fit into it, and you can see his little toes straining against the claw-feeties here. Still scary!!
I didn't get any "before" pictures of Maia dressed in her princess dress (with the fleece jacket I forced her to wear underneath--yes, I'm that mom). However, here's an after, where she's sitting with me and sampling her loot as I pass out candy at our house.
Maia had no problems whatsoever going right up to people's houses and ringing doorbells. She didn't want Brad and me to come up with her, so we had to wait in the driveway or on the sidewalk. She did, however, want to go straight into the person's house as soon as they opened the door. And she would say, "Can I have two, please?" in this very sweet voice. Brad and I told her she couldn't ask that, and she replied, "But they always say 'yes'!" I can't really argue with that logic. :)
Here's Mo, slowing down with the candy (I only let her choose four).
I love how she wears the crown--like an 80's aerobics instructor.
Until next year!
